The quality is much superior. The structure is more stable with less movement. They don't depreciate like both; they appreciate or go up in value over time. Just like normal homes.

Why are they so high per square foot?

If you buy a 3 bedroom 1 bath home with 1800sf it might be $140-$180 per square foot. Our home may be $200-$300 per square foot. The reason is our home still has the same bathroom, the same kitchen, the same appliances, the same heating and cooling, similar exterior doors - all the same cost as the larger home. This makes the costs per square foot to seem outrageous, but in fact it is very reasonable.

In the US it is $418000 including the site.

What are the typical cost for similar homes?

The normal market pricing for tiny homes is from $300-$400 per square foot. 

How nice can my home be?

The sky is the limit. Anything you can imagine within the size and shape parameters can be done. Just remember cost are based mainly on the quality and pricing of items you pick for the interior. We have great granite suppliers, we can get the very best windows and doors, the lighting fixtures can be as luxurious as you desire and the use of technology can extremely increase the price

Are they Engineered?

No, but we feel like having 40 years experience will teach you easily what is structurally sound practices and what is not. Such as in some cases of longer lengths we have to add heavy C-Channel steel along the skids to make the home structurally safe for moving. After the moving is complete those are left in tact for you. In case you need to move it again one day.
